2026 Road Maintenance Program

This Spring, Geske & Sons, Inc. will begin work on the Village’s 2026 Road Maintenance Program. This year’s road program will resurface nearly 4 linear miles.

Once construction begins, it should take approximately six (6) weeks for completion, weather permitting. To help minimize conflicts and delays, residents are asked to avoid street parking between 7:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. throughout the construction period.

These improvements will not change roadway widths. While short-term traffic interruptions may occur, we do not anticipate any full street closures at any time during construction. At times, however, roadways may be temporarily reduced to a single lane.

As the Village's spring projects get underway, this is an opportunity for residents to inspect their driveway culverts and remove any obvious debris such as trash, leaves, and brush, that could cause blockages. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this important work is completed. For your safety, please follow all directions from Traffic Flaggers and drive carefully through active work zones. If you have any questions about the 2026 Road Maintenance Program, please feel free to contact Village Hall at 847-358-7740 or contact [at] inverness-il.gov (contact[at]inverness-il[dot]gov).

Yes, the roads will remain open for vehicular traffic. Short traffic interruptions are inherent due to the construction activity, but the crew will work to allow residents access with minimal delays; but please be patient as they try their best to guide you around any work activities.

No, the contractor is aware that all emergency vehicles must be immediately accommodated through the work zone. Police and Fire Districts are both aware of the construction work for coordination.

Parking within construction limits is not allowed Monday through Friday while the contractor is actively working between 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

No, landscapers will need to move any vehicles when construction activities are in the area so landscapers should park in the driveway and use small enough equipment so as there is no need to park on the streets during construction.

During paving operations there can be a short interruption to driveway access (less than 1 hour). Construction crews can help guide you through and into your driveway shortly after the paving machine passes your driveway.

No, garbage pickup and mail services will be allowed through the work area for continued service.

No, driveway Apron saw-cutting will be performed within 2-feet of the street white edge-line. The paving of the driveway apron is a part of the private driveway, not the roadway, so the apron is not a part of the road resurfacing program.

No, the contractor has been directed to avoid removal of brick pavers. They will mill the asphalt road and leave a small asphalt wedge temporarily and will remove that small wedge prior to paving so that the new road pavement is abutting the pavers near the road edge. The outline illustrates this condition for clarity.

Yes, any lawn edge along the road will be restored with topsoil (as needed), seed and erosion control blanket.

There are wood sakes placed within 2-feet of the existing pavement edge to guide the contractor so that they don’t make the road any narrower or wider than its current alignment. These stakes will be removed at the conclusion of paving operations.

No, these items are not allowed in the road right-of-way (ROW).
