Refuse, Recycling, and Yardwaste Information

Groot Industries will collect an unlimited volume of garbage and recycling including one (1) bulk item per week on Thursdays. We try to be regular with our collection times but we may arrive earlier or later on your collection day. Please have your material out by 6:00 AM to be assured pick up.

All residents living in detached single family dwellings are automatically enrolled in the standard collection program, and will receive a 95 gallon refuse cart and a 65 gallon recycling cart. Additional refuse may be placed in 32 gallon containers and may not exceed a total weight of 45 pounds.

Residents may receive an additional refuse and/or recycling cart for an additional monthly fee. Please contact Groot's customer service department for details at 800-244-1977.

*If the holiday falls on a weekday or a Sunday, service will be delayed one day until Friday in Inverness.

Recycling Program

Landscape Waste Collection

The Village of Inverness offers the residents two options for yard waste collection stickers or subscription yard waste collection with a 95 gallon cart.

Electronic Waste (E-Waste)

The Village of Inverness has made arrangements for Groot Industries to provide free e-waste collections for your home. Residents must call Groot in advance to schedule a pick-up and make arrangements.

Backdoor Refuse Collection Option

This option allows for an unlimited amount of refuse, recycling and a limited amount of yard waste to be placed at the backdoor of the single-family homes collected 1x/week for an additional fee.

Bulk & Oversized Item Disposal

Service includes collection of one (1) bulk item (not appliances or oversized/overweight items) per week at no additional cost. For additional bulk items, residents should call Groot to schedule a pick-up in advance.

Appliances/White Goods

Appliances/White goods requires a special pick-up and separate disposal is required by the State of Illinois. Items will be picked up for $20.00 per item. Residents must call Groot at 800-244-1977 to schedule a pick-up in advance.

Construction Demolition Debris

Service includes collection of not more than (1) cubic yard of construction material per week. Material must be cut to no more than 4 feet in length and no larger than 2 feet in diameter.
